We can become disconnected from ourselves, or part of ourselves, in many ways. Eventually the body gives us signs, which may manifest as a variety of symptoms to alert us to this disconnection. These symptoms might be physical illness / dis-ease, emotional distress, or spiritual distress – a sense that we are not living our lives to our full potential.

The word ‘heal’ literally means ‘whole’. When we are connected to our wholeness, we experience good health and flow. When we align with our true nature, we experience the joy and vitality of life.

Shiatsu supports the immense resources the body has for being healthy and can deepen our awareness of our true capacity as human beings.

The first consultation is to get to know you better and for you to try out the therapy. We will discuss your needs and you can receive a treatment to decide if it is right for you. Follow up sessions will be arranged after discussion according to your requirements.

Transformative Somatic Inquiry

Shiatsu is a holistic Japanese bodywork therapy combining ancient Oriental philosophy and Western anatomy & physiology. Sensitive, compassionate and focussed touch is used to harmonise and energise the whole system and help it to discover its own healing capabilities.

Shiatsu stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities by addressing imbalances in the flow of energy using pressure, stretches, movement, soft-tissue releases and muscle energy techniques. The effect is to relax the nervous system, improve circulation, correct structural imbalances  and restore the body’s balance physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually.

Biodynamic Shiatsu is an innovative and deeply transformative healing bodywork – a fusion of ancient and contemporary bodywork practices such as shiatsu, structural alignment, fascia release, essence healing, chakra  and meditation practices.

The aim of Biodynamic Shiatsu is to clear deeply held energetic patterns and to increase the flow of life force in the body.  This approach taps into the body’s own intelligence and touches the core healing potential of the person.  The effects are felt in the physical body, the emotional and mental condition,  spiritually and in the person’s life.

Come to Rest in Your Authentic Self

In the first state of rest is the sense of stopping, of giving up on what we have been doing or how we have been being. In the second, is the sense of slowly coming home, the physical journey into the body’s un-coerced and un-bullied self, as if trying to remember the way or even the destination itself. In the third state is a sense of healing and self-forgiveness and of arrival. In the fourth state, deep in the primal exchange of the breath, is the give and the take, the blessing and the being blessed and the ability to delight in both. The fifth stage is a sense of absolute readiness and presence, a delight in and an anticipation of the world and all its forms; a sense of being the meeting itself between inner and outer, and that receiving and responding occur in one spontaneous movement.
